Ante Kožul Joins North Geelong

North Geelong Warriors FC is pleased to announce the signing of 19-year-old midfield utility Ante Kožul, who joins the Warriors from St Albans Saints SC.

The former Melbourne Knights FC junior is immediately available at the disposition of senior head coach Micky Čolina despite the mid-season transfer window not opening until later this month, as Kožul was a registered U20s player with the Saints.

It is therefore likely that Kožul will be included in the match day squad on Saturday when North Geelong travel to CB Smith Reserve to take on second placed Moreland Zebras FC as both Matthew Thorne (suspension) and Michael Anderson (overseas) are unavailable for the clash.

Speaking to the club, Kožul stated his delight at the opportunity.

“I was really excited when I got the call from [senior head coach] Micky [Čolina],” Kožul stated. “I didn’t have to think twice before taking the offer.”

“That said, it was difficult to part ways with my childhood club [St Albans Saints] ‘Dinamo’ but it’s opened new doors and I’m taking a massive step forward now in my career.”

Kožul has spent the last week training with North Geelong, and touched on how quickly he has been taken into the fold.

“In the first week I can already see how good the group of boys are, as is the community” Kožul continued. “I hope to contribute positively and help the team in every way possible”

North Geelong take on Moreland Zebras at CB Smith Reserve tomorrow in a first vs. second clash in the NPL2 West division, with kick off set for 4.00pm.
