North Geelong Warriors FC is excited to announce the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Damian Rastočić, who becomes the club’s second signing of the transfer window following the acquisition of Ante Kožul earlier in the month.
Rastočić comes across to Elcho Park having last turned out for National Premier Leagues Victoria 2 West league counterparts Sunshine George Cross FC, whom he joined in mid-2013.
Prior to his time with the Georgies, Rastočić was a Melbourne Knights FC junior, playing alongside new teammates Ante Kožul, Michael Simms and Nicholas Jurčić in an U21 side which took out the annual Australian Croatian Soccer Tournament in 2013.
On joining the club, Rastočić stated his delight to be a part of the culture at North Geelong
“It’s a really close group of boys here and an environment you want to work in and be a part of,” Rastočić stated. “I heard about how close the group was as a team but I didn’t realise just how good the environment was until my first training session last week, which was a big positive.”
Rastočić comes to North Geelong looking for a fresh start and a new outlook on his career.
“Georges just wasn’t working out for me and I needed a new start somewhere where I could start from scratch and hopefully help out a good group of lads,” Rastočić concluded.
Rastočić will be available for North Geelong this weekend as it travels to Gardiners Creek Reserve to take on Eastern Lions on Saturday the 11th of June at 3.00pm.
