North Geelong Warriors

NPL2 ROUND 10

In Round 10 of the NPL Victoria 2 season, we welcome Albury-Wodonga based Murray United FC to Elcho Park this Saturday, the 30th of April.

Murray United sit in second bottom place on the NPL2 Victoria East conference, with one win, two draws and six losses from its opening nine rounds.

United is, though, through to Round 6 of the FFA Cup, defeating both Moreland City and Langwarrin on its path.

North Geelong are themselves coming off two wins, the most recent of which was a 2-0 away win at Moreland City, which saw the Warriors move into second place on the NPL2 West ladder.

The North Geelong defensive unit will need to be wary of Murray duo Geoffrey Lino and Zac Walker, both of whom have scored freely this season and have extensive football pedigrees.

North Geelong have found no issue in scoring goals themselves, though, with Michael Anderson, American import Kene Eze and English import Matthew Thorne all enjoying good spells of form in front of goal.

The clash is sure to be full of action and, as always, the Warriors will need the support of their faithful in our bid to continue to move towards our goals for season 2016.

We wish Murray United safe travels on its 350km+ journey to our home base in Lara and look forward to welcoming them for a memorable day of NPLV football.
