North Geelong Warriors

Young Warriors Start Season

North Geelong Warriors FC kicked off its junior NPL season on Sunday at Elcho Park, with mixed results against Sunshine George Cross.

Starting off the day, the Under 12 side showed how much it has improved within the first six weeks together, while the Under 13 side was handed a 6-0 loss.

Ezana Debebe’s double proved to be the difference for the Under 14 group, already with a couple of key injuries, as it emerged the 2-0 victor over Georgies.

While their effort and performance was indeed encouraging, the display of the day undoubtedly came from the Under 15 team.

Braces for Luka Jurkovic and Anthony Leban, along with goals from Max Noggler and debutant Matthew Nguyen saw the 15s run away with the victory.

Meanwhile, Seth Szkuta keeping a clean sheet on his debut in goals for North was the icing.

Daniel Gudasic’s goal unfortunately was not enough for the Under 16 side, suffering a 2-1 defeat and in the final match of the day, the Under 18 team was defeated 5-3.

Jack Hammence, Tareq Rahimi and James Tripodi were the goalscorers.

Lastly, we would like to wish our junior sides all the very best for 2017. Represent North Geelong Warriors FC with pride, purpose and a desire to learn and improve, both on and off the pitch.

We hope that by doing that, you most importantly enjoy playing the beautiful game, both as individuals and as part of our family.
